C1. Mild steel / Plastic Cabinet
The cabinet remains in a fixed position at the top of the all inclusive pole which has been designed to reduce potential vandal attacks. This enables it to be manufactured in a variety of materials, including fire retardant plastic and mild steel. This will reduce cost as well as tackling vandalism.

2. Precision linear bearings
The use of a rear mounted linear bearing enables the pole to incorporate ground level access into a single pole design and still maintain a minimal footprint. The additional benefits include the exact repositioning of the components as well as being completely maintenance free.

3. Lens and Cover
The lens and cover both come down with the components so that they can be maintained. As the unit is raised back into the operational position the cover creates a seal securing the components inside.

4. Electrical Compartment
This area of the pole is watertight and completely separate from the main upper section. It has a lift out door as with the current product.

Vertical Angle
The vertical angle is achieved using an internal tilt tray that has a range of +/- 14°.

Horizontal Angle
The cabinet has sufficient internal space to allow the components to face the road at the required angle. There is also space to accommodate the radar antenna.

Rear Facing
As this will be a rear facing camera system the back of the cabinet will be painted with the regulation No. 363 Bold Yellow of BS381C: 1996.
NEW PRODUCT DESIGN – Single Pole. This new design of roadside pole integrates traffic monitoring equipment. Developed by Crown UK, the roadside pole is ergonomically designed, providing high visibility, with minimal distraction and interference to foot traffic.

The pole is available in various design combinations to suit the monitoring equipment, location, and authority’s preference. The new design is registered within the EU and will be shown in production form at Traffex (NEC April 07).
